Overview
Considered to be the most religious tour of Hindus, Char Dham Yatra is the tour to four Hindu pilgrimage sites namely, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. Each of these places has its own importance in Hinduism and visiting them can be an unforgettable experience.
These are mystical places in the Himalayas that are visited from left to right. Thus, the journey of Char Dham must be started from Yamunotri, then Gangotri, then Kedarnath and concluding the journey at Badrinath. Kedarnath is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Shiva in India which are considered to be the main places of worship of Lord Shiva.
Itinerary Details
Day - 01:- Haridwar - Mussoorie - Barkot
Distance & Time - (200 KM & 7 Hrs.)
Today we drive to Barkot and Syanachatti. Enroute you, we can halt for some time at Mussoorie & Kempty falls. Later proceed to Barkot and transfer to your Hotel where we overstay it.
Day - 02:- Barkot - Yamunotri - Return to Jankichatti
Distance & Time - (45 KM + 7 KM)
Drive 45 kms to Jankichatti and then trek for 07 kms to reach Yamunotri. Visit the temple of Goddess Yamuna which is situated on the banks of the river. There is a hot water spring adjacent to this temple. The pilgrims take a holy dip in this spring before Darshan of the temple. You can also cook rice in these hot waters. After Darshan we return back to Jankichatti. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day - 03:- Barkot - Uttarkashi
Distance & Time - (115 KM & 5 Hrs)
After breakfast drive to Uttarkashi. You can visit the famous Vishwanath Temple. Stay overnight at the hotel
Day - 04:- Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Uttarkashi
Distance & Time - (100 KM each Side & 3.5 Hrs)
After breakfast, we proceed to Harsil. This is one of the most beautiful valleys in Uttarakhand. On the way we can halt at Gangnani which again has hot water springs. You can take a dip here. Then drive to Gangotri (22 kms/1 hr). Over here devotees take a holy dip in the most Holy River of Hindus- The Ganges. It is also called Bhagirathi from where it originates. You can then perform pooja and enjoy in the picturesque surroundings. In the afternoon return back to Uttarkashi. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day - 05:- Uttarkashi - Guptkashi - Sitapur
Distance & Time - (210 KM & 8 Hrs)
After early breakfast, we will proceed to Guptakashi . Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day - 06:- Sitapur - Gaurikund - Bhambali - Lencholi - Kedarnath Camp
Distance & Time - (10 KM by Road & 18-20 KM by Trek Oneway)
After breakfast, we proceed to Sonprayag. After medical check up we proceed to Gaurikund. Then we begin our trek to Kedarnath. The government has put up tents for stay at Gaurigaon, Bhimbali, Lencholi and Kedarnath, they will also provide meals and medical facilities at these locations. After darshan at Kedarnath overnight stay at Kedarnath Camps.
Day - 07:- Kedarnath - Sitapur
Distance & Time - (18-20 KM by Trek Oneway)
Trace your steps back and return to Sonprayag. Drive back to Sitapur and Guptkashi. Stay overnight in hotel.
Day - 08:- Sitapur - Badrinath
Distance & Time - (220 KM & 8 Hrs)
After an early breakfast, we proceed to Badrinath. We halt for some time enroute at Chopta. Chopta is popularly calledas the " Switzerland Of India". You can enjoy a splendid view of the snow capped Himalayan peaks from here. Enjoy the beautiful drive through medicinal forests. When you arrive at Badrinath check into your hotel for overnight stay.
Day - 09:- Badrinath - Joshimath / Pipalkoti
Distance & Time - (55 / 80 KM & 2 / 4 Hrs)
Get up early in the morning and see the beauty of the majestic Neel Khant peak. There is a hot water spring here called as Tapt Kund. The devotees take a holy dip here before taking Darshan of the Badrinath Temple. Have your breakfast and then drive to Mana Village. This is the last village on the Indo-China border. Then return to Joshimath in the evening. Dinner & stay overnight at the hotel.
Day - 10:- Joshimath / Pipalkoti - Haridwar
Distance & Time - (220 / 260 KM & 8 / 9 Hrs)
After breakfast, we proceed to RHaridwar. Transfer to hotel/railway station.
